Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to market and maintain the school’s student enrolment to maximise the school capacity
- Manage cost control in all aspects of school operations
- Carry out daily operations in compliance with industry regulations, the policies, philosophy, and procedures of the child care centre, and ensure staff work within the early childhood curriculum
- Together with the Curriculum and Pedagogy team , provide leadership to teachers in quality early childhood curriculum design, development and implementation
- Coach and support teachers to monitor, assess, document and maintain evaluation and assessment of children’s learning and development
- Select, coach and mentor teachers to maximise their professional relationship with parents, working relations with colleagues and teaching performance for the growth of students under their care
- Maintain students’ records and teacher to child ratio as required by the Ministry and where necessary stand in as class teacher to maintain such ratio
- Maintain the school physical condition and facilities, to provide learning a safe and nurturing environment for the children
- Establish and maintain positive and effective communication with parents and the school community
- Organise school events to support cultural, festive events, racial harmony and green environment
- Ensure centre's service meet ECDA framework, SPARK and licensing requirements
Requirements / Core Competencies
- Preschool Education Leadership (DPE-L) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership (DECCE-L) / Advanced Diploma in Early
- Childhood Centre Leadership (ADECL); or its equivalent recognised by ECDA
- For Centre Leader: At least 8 years working experience in a preschool with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Possess valid certificate in child first aid recognised by ECDA
- Good knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
- Good knowledge of government regulations and quality assurance framework (Child Care Act and Regulation and SPARK)
- Intermediate knowledge of early intervention strategies and working experience with children with special needs will be an advantage
- Matured, exemplary leadership and management skills are essential
- High level of competency in planning and management centre’s operations, budget, income and expenditure
- Work effectively with various stakeholders, authorities and organisations
Location
- Jurong West (Blk 663C)
Working Hours:
- 42 hours work week ( Monday - Friday, 1 Saturday a month)
- Centre operates from 7am to 7pm (Monday to Friday) and 7am to 2pm (Saturday)
Salary
Centre Leader : $5,500 and above (Salary will commensurate with education and experience)
